Now and then I encounter Negative Nellies (no offense if your name is Nellie) who say,”I tried that, it doesn’t work” or Waldo Workaholics who believe that they are taking massive amounts of action but they have a perfect closing ratio of zero. They usually are madly rearranging papers on their desks, correcting the company PowerPoint, studying the comp plan, or dropping names of every single trainer to whom they’ve subscribed.
If you aren’t getting the results you want, get a clue! Hello!
Humble yourself. Ask more successful business developers (than you) or mentors in your company for help and trouble shooting. You could be missing a tiny but significant ingredient (the network marketing equivalent of eggs or baking soda), that ARE missing. One of my mentors, Brian, goes through a sort of checklist to diagnose what could be wrong and also does a short journal exercise every night. I regularly check in with him for accountability, to improve, and to do any troubleshooting.
If you’re green, you’re growing. When you’re ripe (and unteachable), you’re rotten.
Swallow your pride. Obviously you are missing SOMETHING, and don’t need to keep banging your head against a padded cell.
I had a rep insist once he was doing 12 presentations a day and another claim he was missing no ingredients when he was closing no one. Hmmmm. Was rigorous honesty missing?
The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. If you want out of a hole, stop digging.
